Lets Connect!!

Thank you for visiting my blog Realistic Cooking Ideas for Busy People! We are now in our fourth year of blogging! As a bit of history about how this blog got started, I am a Director in the Tech field who not only loves technology but also cooking! Like most of you, I often find myself with limited time and energy to cook. The inspiration for this blog came from too many disappointments from local restaurants. Often my husband and I would wait 30-minutes or longer to be seated only to be served a sub-par dinner at high prices and far too many calories. We got tired of this routine and decided we would take control of our menu planning finding ways to make delicious and easy meals. I created this blog to share both my easy to make meals and recipes that take more time for special occasions and meals that provide those wonderful leftovers! I am inspired by many cuisines but I will tell you my dishes are not authentic. So you might see a Thai, Indian, or Italian recipe but it will have ingredients that works for my husband and me.

Over the years this blog has evolved to discuss our day-trips and other adventures. Recently I invested in a Canon EOS Rebel 5i camera with a pretty nice zoom lens. Whenever there is an opportunity, the Canon comes along to capture our adventures and some of these photos are shared on this blog. I do have a second blog called The Testers Edge where I share my experiences, thoughts, and observations on the Software Testing field, career development, and the tech field in general.

We have many interests and one of them is healthy living. Although I enjoy the gooey slice of cheese and pepperoni New York Style pizza, there is the reality that we really are what we eat! This year, we will be exploring bringing more healthy ingredients and superfoods into our meals. Below are a few new ingredients we are exploring!
New Ingredients

I have always been a fan of superfoods such as yogurt, nuts, fruits, and vegetables without adding heavy sauces, sugars, and salt. My research has taken me to the polymeal, which is dedicated to bringing more healthy foods into your lifestyle that could help reduce cardiovascular disease and cancer. My background does not include training in nutrition therefore I will share my resources for your own decision making. I do not believe in diets as they tend to be temporary changes instead I believe in lifestyle changes. Below is my new collection of inspiration!

I hope you find a recipe or two from my blog! And if you have a different spin on one of my recipes, I would love to hear from you. Stay tune for a delicious journey!

  3. I found your blog when I googled Trek 3.0 I just got rid of my mountain bike of 25 years that my husband bought me in college. It was getting to uncomfortable to ride so with much trepidation I gave it away. I found the Trek and loved it so I bought it today. Thank you for sharing your information about the padded shorts. It’s exactly what I wanted to hear. I have an iphone and will get the holder too. I related to everything you said about biking. I have to try the crab cakes! I never pass them up if they are on a menu. As for all things motorized, my husband is a pilot… I need not say more. Thank you for the time and thought you have put into your blog. Alexandria

    • Thank you Alexandria for stopping by and sharing your experiences! I now love cycling with my Trek bike! The padded shorts with the gel seats does help – plus of course just getting use to riding again. I found I got into shape quickly for our hiking trip to NH once I got my Trek bike. Not only do I LOVE my iPhone (I had other mobile devices) the holder is really nice to track your trips. The crab cakes are really good – but they are different than if they are deep fried. Your husband must witness some amazing views being a pilot! Have a great day! Bernice
