Realistic Cooking Ideas

for Busy People! And sharing our life adventures along the way!

Today’s Thursday Door is a beautiful, ornate door from a garden house at Sonnenberg Gardens. I believe it was the house that Mary kept her birds as they had a special house. In reviewing a post I did last year on Mary’s Aviary it looks like a decent match. In this photo you can see a bit of the building that matches the pictures taken of the Aviary.

In general Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park is just a beautiful way to spend a day. So much to view from gorgeous gardens to a beautiful mansion! This door has a rustic look that is worn over the years. The greenery around the door frames it beautifully and is a great accent for the leaves that are part of the door. Plus I like how you can see through the building to the other door. One can imagine a warm summer breeze flowing through the door as it is both ornate and functional.

The door handle has a lock so I would imagine at one time there was a glass panel. I hope you enjoyed today’s door! And be sure to check out Norm’s Thursday Door of a beautiful, old Montreal church!

  1. Stunning. Craftsmen used toproduce the most marvelous work and that’s what people wanted. Now we’ve become too laid back I think. ❤ ❤

Yes, it is just stunning! I wish we would go back to that time period!

      1. Sigh. I’m with you — for the fabulous work, but not so much for the times. 😀

So true – things are rather casual!! So I guess we will enjoy a throw back in time when we get the opportunities! 🙂

      3. I.n.d.e.e.d. 😮 ❤

Thank you! I had to go back into my archives to find a picture. I love the old craftsmanship! And of course I just love going to Sonnenberg Gardens!
