Saco Lake Cover
This is a wonderful nature walk around a pond that is easy to complete. Just before I was to cross a little bridge of logs, I heard a loud splash. Startled I wondered what just jumped into the pond. Well it was a duck and I wanted to get a picture of him surrounded by trees. That duck was swimming fast! I was almost running to try and catch up with them. I did get a few pictures but the duck is not as clear as I would like because he was moving. He was cute! We also saw a beaver dam but it does not look like there are any beavers living in it as we did not see any current beaver damage. I was going to climb to the top of Idlewild View but the boulders looked a bit unstable. So we decided against it. For awhile I was leading and Greg seemed to be walking through spider webs since he is taller. I told him to use his walking stick to knock them down that is why you see him swinging his walking stick in the one picture. There are some large boulders on the side of the mountain that you hope never get loose! An earthquake in this area would be a real problem.

Thank you! It is an easy trail but yet fun with the small wooden bridges and the potential of a duck. A lot to look at and enjoy. I do hope you get a chance to go!

Yes, it is a wonderful summer/fall retreat. So much to do in New Hampshire from nature trails to the most difficult hikes and climbs. Thank you for the nomination and I will be formally accepting on my blog this week. 🙂
