Strawberry Shortcake with Bourbon Whip Cream Final

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! We are still having odd weather where it is nice one day and the next it drops 20 degrees. Plus a lot of rain with flood warnings. Luckily last Sunday we had a beautiful day where Greg and I got out to play a round of disc golf. Then we had a relaxing afternoon on the patio listening to music and just hanging out. Something that does not happen too often. Overall it was one of those perfect weather-days that you do not want to end!

After making the Slow-Cooked Bourbon Chicken, I had bourbon left over and wanted to make a few other recipes. We love strawberry short cake so I decided to make my own whipped cream adding bourbon to make it more fun! This is such a simple recipe that is perfect really for any occasion!

Ingredients
Shortbread, angel cake, or your favorite cake
Strawberries, Sliced

Topping
1 Cup Heavy Cream
1 – 2 tsp Sugar
1 – 2 tbsp Bourbon
1 tsp Vanilla

To make the whipped cream, add the heavy cream to a glass bowl and using a hand mixer, mix until stiff peaks form. Then fold in sugar, bourbon, and vanilla to your taste. Use immediately.
