Realistic Cooking Ideas

for Busy People! And sharing our life adventures along the way!

very-inspiring-blogger-award

Thank you to Shaun for another nomination of “The Very Inspiring Blogging Award”. I hope you visit his blog as he shares his view of the world around him and for the rules of this award. I am inspired every day by other bloggers whether it be for the wonderful recipes they share, beautiful food presentation, photography of beautiful landscapes and the world around us – and so much more! Thank you to all my readers as you enrich my life.

As for 7 things about myself…

  1. I never read one book – I always have several that I go between. Currently I am reading: Maeve Binchy’s A Week in Winter; Gerry Weinberg’s Perfect Software and Other Illusions About Testing; John Maxwell books – Today Matters and The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership.
  2. I recently got a subscription and my first printed copy of “The Testing Planet” produced by the Software Testing Club from the UK.
  3. I love the period drama “Downton Abbey”. Everything about this series is fascinating to me from the fabulous, artistic filming to the complexity of the upstairs / downstairs politics and relationships. I did get the unofficial Downton Abbey Cookbook.
  4. I do not run. See no reason to run unless there is an emergency.
  5. My preference is tea – I drink it black and strong. Only time I will use cream is with Indian Spice Chai.
  6. I adore pizza – yes I know it is not good for you. I actually prefer New York Style pizza that is a thin hand-tossed crust.
  7. I am waiting for the Alien movie to arrive so my husband and I can watch it again to tie it back to Prometheus, which I have seen 3 times. I am happy to see that Prometheus 2 is in development!!

I am to nominate 15 bloggers – though like most who receive the award we want to award it to everyone!

      4. Bernice says:

I live in the Northeast of the US – in particular New York. I write for two Indian Software Testing Magazines and “know” many Indian testers through social media. Some of them are helping me with my Indian cooking. πŸ™‚

    1. Bernice says:

For some odd reason… running is very popular where I live…. πŸ™‚

  4. Whitney says:

Thanks Bernice! Where have you been hiding, you’ve not been posting regularly and I am missing your posts! On another note, a friend was looking at your blog and about page, and he grunts. I asked him what was that about. And he said she’s a software tester. I was like uh ok so. And he said she tests what we develop. Haha.

    1. Bernice says:

Hi Whitney… thanks for noticing I have been gone… I have been a bit under the weather… your developer friend’s comment makes me wonder what type of dev / tester relationship he has where he works. We have a fantastic relationship with our developers. We are always working closely together and we have mutual respect for each other. πŸ™‚

      1. Whitney says:

They mostly deal with government contracts, so I am thinking both sides are probably very stern in order to make sure it passes. Just assuming! Hope you feel better soon!

      2. Bernice says:

Yes some environments are not too friendly. There can be a lot of blame and finger-pointing. I am a former-programmer so I can relate with the developers. Thanks for the well wishes!

  5. I run to the refrigerator…does that count? Congrats.

    1. Bernice says:

… that might be considered an emergency. πŸ™‚
