Realistic Cooking Ideas

for Busy People! And sharing our life adventures along the way!

I discussed in a prior post that at work we are starting Wegmans Eat Well Live Well Challenge. Each week we are having a healthy snack of fruit or vegetables to help us meet our daily goal. Today we sampled V8 V-Fusion which are a blend of fruits and vegetables where a 8 oz glass contains a full serving of fruits and vegetables. There is no sugar added so they are not sweet like a fruit juice. Nicole, who is our overall coordinator, did a wonderful job in planning the event. She brought in 4 different flavors so we could sample them. Everyone enjoyed that since we know which flavors we prefer!

I started with the Strawberry Banana and then the Peach Mango. I figured they are lighter in flavor than the dark berries. This is the same strategy I would use with wine tasting. Start with the lighter wines and move on to the heavier red wines at the end. My favorite was Peach Mango as I really liked the mango flavor. I was rather surprised since I am more of a red wine person than a lighter white wine. (I am always looking for relationships between wine and other beverages to see if there are any correlations.) The Pomegranate Blueberry and Cranberry Blackberry were also good. The Strawberry Banana was good but I have a banana with my breakfast every morning so it is nice to have a change. So back to our EWLW challenge… it is good to know if I need to find a way to get in another serving of fruit and vegetables I can get a V8 V-Fusion!

  1. So which one was your favourite?

    1. Bernice says:

I liked the Peach Mango – especially since I rarely have mangos!

  2. I love V8, but sorry I hate the fusion.

    1. Bernice says:

I never liked V8 but I did enjoy the V-Fusion. But if I have my choice I would rather have fresh fruit. But in a pinch a V-Fusion will do. 🙂 I can see where it is not for everyone.

This is great – thanks for posting. Do you happen to know if the Peach Mango flavor comes in an small bottle (12-16 oz)?

    1. Bernice says:

Hi Dawn. It looks like it comes in 12 oz and 46-ounce plastic bottles.
