Realistic Cooking Ideas

for Busy People! And sharing our life adventures along the way!

A few days ago it felt like spring – warm and sunny. Today it is cold, damp and just miserable. What a great time for some comfort food! I would like to share a few favorite recipes guaranteed to take off the chill! It will make those last few weeks before the weather gets warm (and decides to stay) a bit easier to get through. I am looking forward to a bit of downtime this weekend and make a couple more St. Patrick’s Day recipes. It was a busy week at work with writing testing strategies & testing ideas, performing risk analysis, and ensuring that important testing projects are moving forward. I tend to multi-task to the extreme and depend upon my mind maps and other tools to keep me organize. By Friday night I am pretty much shot! I think I will make a cup of Indian Spice tea to take off the chill of a damp day.

We did not get as much snow as normal but we did have a lot of very bitter cold and damp days. Some days you cannot even get warm. That is when I truly appreciate these meals!

Yes there really is something comforting about these types of meals when it is snowing outside. I also love a good cup of Indian Spice Tea to end the evening.

Thank you – with winter being so long it is necessary to have many different choices. 🙂

I made a chicken, cabbage and brussels sprouts soup this week. We have been warm all week but I still need soup. I think I will try the smoked chicken and rosemary dumplings stew.

Your dish sounds wonderful! The dumpling stew is true comfort food – I should make it again before spring settles in. My husband just loved it!
